(Cooperative sponsorship from various local agencies)
Provides information to the public about recycling, composting, hazardous wastes, air and water quality and energy resources. Conducts trainings for teachers and provides classroom presentations.
• Master Composter/Recycler Program (360) 882-0936 ext. 24
Trains community volunteers to provide information about composting and recycling. Schedules and conducts free home-composting workshops for the public. Provides classroom presentations on composting. Maintains two home-composting demonstration sites available for public touring during daylight hours:
1. H & H Wood Recycling, 8401 NE 117th Avenue, Vancouver
2. Water Resource Education Center, 4600 SE Columbia Way, Vancouver

Coordinates solid waste management throughout unincorporated Clark County and selected cities. Administers curbside recycling and yard debris collection services in the county. Provides information and referral about waste prevention, recycling and disposal opportunities, and household hazardous waste.

Provides information and referral regarding proper handling and disposal of medical wastes. Enforces state regulations related to illegal dumping, permits, solid waste handling facilities and disposal facilities. Septic tank issues

(Metro, Portland, OR) Provides information about how to recycle throughout the greater metropolitan area. A good resource for finding out about where to take hard-to-recycle materials if you don’t mind driving across the Columbia. For online information go to Metro Recycling Information hotline.
• Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission 1-800-562-6150
Establishes garbage collection rates and handles garbage service complaints in the unincorporated areas of the county as well as in Battle Ground, La Center and Yacolt.
• Washington Department of Ecology 1-800-RECYCLE
Provides information and referral about solid waste, recycling and hazardous wastes. Regulates hazardous waste generators throughout the state. For information online go to 1-800 RECYCLE Assistance Page.
