Accepts: air conditioning units*; automobile/truck**; bicycles; clothes dryers; clothes washers; dish washers; freezers*; hot water tanks; lawnmowers***; ferrous metals (tin, steel, iron); propane tanks (valve stem must be removed) refrigerators*; sports/exercise equipment; stoves; toasters; and most metal items (call first if you have questions). Does Not Accept: Non-ferrous metals (brass, copper, etc.), batteries of any kind, tar coated material, transformers, compressors, asbestos, capacitors, x-ray units or equipment, hazardous materials, wire, trash, soil or rock, lead paint or oil materials, aerosol cans, concrete/asphalt, unpurged propane, acetylene or oxygen tanks, light fixture ballasts, grease/oily materials, machine shop borings/turnings, food items, condensers, radioactive material, PCB’s or CFC’s (refrigerants), wood, liquids of any kind, tires, paint cans, insulation, anti-freeze, cables***, unpurged fire extinguishers, torque converters, enclosed tanks, mobile homes, and barrels/drums*****.
*Air conditioning units, freezers, and refrigerator must have CFC’s properly extracted and compressors removed.
**Automobiles/trucks require: legal documentation of ownership; license plate removed; trunk open; tires removed; all fluids (anti-freeze, oil, fuel) drained; gas tank removed with fist size hole.
***Lawnmowers: all oil and fuel drained
**** Cables will be accepted in 3’ lengths or in 3’ diameter coils with 5 tight 1”+ bands
***** Barrels, drums and tanks accepted if they are certifiably triple rinsed according to EPA standards (a triple rinse certificate must accompany the containers); barrels and drums must be open; and tanks must have a man sized hole for inspection purposes.
