Many Clark County residents have a new way to recycle! County residents are now using recycling carts for most items they recycle at the curb. Learn more about residential recycling. |
How does the program work?
- Most of your recyclables (paper, metal cans, and plastic bottles and tubs) go in your cart.
- More plastics can be recycled in your cart. Plastic tubs (yogurt & margarine containers), nursery pots, and plastic buckets can all be placed in your cart.
- Glass bottles and jars on the side go in a bin, next to your cart.
- Motor oil and antifreeze in a clear one-gallon screw top jug next to your cart.
- Household Batteries (AA, AAA, C, D, Lithium, Mercury, Ni-Cad) should be in a resealable plastic bag and placed on top of the cart.
- Download the program poster to learn more about what materials go in the cart.
Frequently Asked Questions about the new program.
Program Background
The new recycling program is the result of a lengthy research process on a variety of residential recycling options. In 2008, Clark County partnered with Waste Connections to conduct a pilot program to test using carts to potentially replace using the 3-bin recycling system.
