Residential yard debris
In Clark County, recycling collection, sorting, processing, and marketing services are provided by private companies, under contract to the county and/or to cities within the county. Garbage collection services are provided by designated haulers within the cities, and by the state-franchised hauler in the unincorporated areas of the county. Residential recycling collection is provided by contracted haulers in the cities and throughout the county. Residential yard debris collection is provided by a contracted hauler in the urbanized area of the county (where outdoor burning is prohibited by the state).
There are no active public landfills in the county. There are three garbage transfer stations; offering free drop-off of recycling materials during all business hours and free drop-off of household hazardous wastes on specified dates each month. There are currently three private recycling companies in the county which purchase selected materials at their facilities, and four private wood and yard debris processing companies. Collection of selected recyclable materials from businesses is offered by a number of private companies, notably including those which provide garbage collection in the area.
