Buy Recycled

Closing the Loop

Without a profitable, stable market for recycled goods, there is no place for your recycled materials to go once they reach the transfer station. We need businesses to use those materials in their manufacturing process so that there will be a demand for them. In order for businesses to manufacture new products with those materials, someone has to be purchasing the new products - YOU! Many potentially recyclable materials end up in a landfill because there is no market for them. As consumers we have tremendous power to shape the market. By selecting recycled products or recycled packaging, we create a demand.

Look for products displaying the 'recycled content' logos. It is also important to look for products that contain 'post-consumer' recycled materials. This means the recycled material it contains was used and recycled by a consumer rather than being manufacturing waste that never made it to the consumer level.
