Often items that have been thrown away can be reused before being dumped in the landfill. Each year, these items are displayed at the Tossed and Found exhibit of the Recycled Arts Festival before being recycled to new owners.
How does Tossed and Found work? Attend the Recycled Arts Festival and you will receive one free tag to place on any item you would like to take home. Items are given away for free on a first-come, first-served basis.
Your tag will hold your place in line until the item is available for pick-up between noon and 2 p.m. on Sunday. If you are unable to pick up your item during that time, it will be offered to the next person in line.
A few important times and rules to remember:
Saturday, June 28
11 a.m. – 12 p.m. - Browse the exhibit and receive your tag.
View all the reusable items rescued from the landfill. We will begin handing out numbered tags at this time.
12:30 – 4 p.m. - Tag an item.
Items will be tagged in the same order that the tags are handed out. Items will be chosen one at a time until all the people holding tags have made a choice, remaining items will then be first come first served. Only one item or set of matched items per tag. Limit of two tags per family.
Sunday, June 29
10 a.m. – 12 p.m. - Browse the exhibit and tag an item.
Couldn’t make it to the festival on Saturday? Come view and tag an item today.
12 – 2 p.m. - Pick-up your tagged item.
If you were the first person to tag an item you can pick it up between noon and 2 p.m.
2 – 4 p.m. - Items not picked up by 2 p.m. are offered to the next person in line.
All items not claimed during the Recycled Arts Festival will be donated to local charities.
