Many people do not realize that pet waste left on the ground often gets washed into storm drains, which lead directly to our streams and wetlands. This waste is essentially raw sewage, and carries harmful bacteria which can affect the health of not only aquatic wildlife, but ourselves and our children as well. Scoop it, bag it, toss it in the garbage!

"Think about keeping our waters clean when you wash your car. The best bet is to use a car wash (they recycle the water) and second best is to wash your car on the grass (use phosphorus-free, non-toxic soap). Of course, you can not wash your car and keep all that dirt riding around with you (just a thought)."
