Student Monitoring

The Clean Water Program partners with the City of Vancouver Water Resources Education Center to help mentor teachers and students in their efforts to monitor and learn more about local water quality.

Program staff provide teacher training, classroom presentations, help with monitoring site selection and assist students with on-site testing and sampling.

Students share their projects with each other and the community at the Student Watershed Congress, held annually in April at the Water Resources Education Center. Teachers can also post their student's data on the statewide Nature Mapping web site.

For more information on how your students can become involved in monitoring nearby streams, call the Water Resources Education Center at (360) 696-8478.
