The Engineering Team is responsible for the maintenance of the Geographic Information System (GIS) inventory of the county's stormwater pipes, ditches, and facilities.
This inventory includes infrastructure constructed by the county's various capital programs as well as by privately funded development.
This activity allows for the efficient and effective maintenance and monitoring of the systems as well as planning and designing system improvements and extensions.
The program maintains an inventory of privately owned and operated stormwater management facilities so they can be inspected for proper function. The team also provides support and oversight for the county's stormwater maintenance activities.
Mapping
The GIS database contains the following information:
- Urban infrastructure - pipes, manholes, catch basins used for conveyance of stormwater
- Stormwater facilities - all objects within a parcel for the purpose of storing and/or treating stormwater runoff. This inventory includes both public and privately maintained facilities.
- Rural infrastructure - roadside ditches and culverts throughout the county
- Outfalls - all locations where collected stormwater enters either a waterbody or the groundwater
Inventory
The Engineering Team maintains an inventory of privately owned and operated stormwater management facilities so they can be inspected by county staff for proper function. The team also provides support and oversight for the county's stormwater maintenance activities.
