The Development Assets Project is part of a Community Services Department campaign called "HopeWorks."
The mission of Developmental Assets Project is to build a thriving, healthy and caring community that includes strength-based awareness, education and action by youth and adults in Clark County.
The intentions of the Developmental Assets Project campaign are as follows:
- Promote public awareness and education efforts that inspire community-wide attention to positive development that supports all young people 0-18 years of age.
- Incubate relationships that cross generations, professions or interests, geography, race, ethnicity, faith, ability, and socioeconomic status throughout the county who care about youth and their success.
- Build partnerships and mobilize sectors of the community to further the common vision of a balanced, strength-based support network for all young people in the county.
- Provide a positive focus on the design, implementation and evaluation of planning, programming and policy-making priorities for government, businesses, and organizations in the county.
- The creation of collaborative partnerships in community-based organizations, businesses, government, schools, faith communities, neighborhoods, parents, and lay citizens. By working together, we combine both public and private resources, create community conditions that protect, nurture and realize the full potential of each member of our community.
- Serve as a catalyst for a shift in culture to take an asset-based, positive view of support efforts for young people in the county. Language, Attitude, and Behavior Change.
- Assure a stronger voice for youth, ethnic groups, and low income members of Clark County communities in all aspects of asset development work.
