Step Two: Submit the application with the fee

To complete the application process both parties must be present in our office. The Joint Lobby is open Monday - Thursday, 9 AM - 4 PM   Bring current government issued photo ID. There is a $72 fee that can be paid in cash, debit/credit cards (convenience fee applies), or by cashier's check/money order. Personal checks are not accepted. This fee is due in our office at completion of processing your application and is non- refundable.

Step Three: Get married

Once your license is issued, you must wait at least three days before the marriage can take place. (The day you get your license is day one.) Your license will be valid for 60 days after issuance. This waiting period is Washington State law and cannot be waived, so plan ahead.

Step Four: Return the certificate, signed by all parties

After you have gotten married, the signed marriage certificate must be returned to the Clark County Auditor's Office. The certificate can be returned by mail or in person. If you need a copy of your marriage certificate, click here for instructions.

Marriages are Public Record

All marriage records are a matter of public record. The one exception to this is for those enrolled in the State's Address Confidentiality program. Once a license has been recorded, it cannot be "unrecorded."
