Two drive-up ballot drop boxes make election participation easier

Body
Vancouver, WA ̶ Turning in a voted ballot is now more convenient thanks to two new, drive-up, bright red ballot drop boxes permanently installed in prominent locations in east and north Clark County. One box is just inside the north entrance to the Fisher’s Landing Transit Center, 3510 S.E. 164th Ave. The second is in the parking lot on the west side of Battle Ground City Hall, 109 S.W. 1st St. Both are easy to spot, convenient for drivers and available around the clock starting July 17. The two new ballot drop boxes are in addition to one installed several years ago on West 14th Street near the Clark County Elections Department, 1408 Franklin St. The new drop boxes will be available for the Aug. 4 primary, giving voters greater choice in how and when to return their ballots, said Auditor Greg Kimsey. Primary ballots will be mailed July 17, and voters can put completed ballots in a drop box any time after that. For security, Election Department staff will frequently remove ballots from the drop boxes. On Aug. 4, primary day, voters have until 8 p.m. to drop a ballot into a box. Elections workers will secure each box at 8 p.m., but voters can continue to drop their ballots if vehicles are lined up at closing time.
