Commission on Aging offers opportunity to serve older citizens

Vancouver, WA – Clark County is seeking applicants for an opening on its Commission on Aging. The commission provides leadership addressing the needs of people older than 50 and implements the county’s Aging Readiness Plan. Volunteer service is for a two-year term. Residents living anywhere in Clark County can apply; those with experience and expertise in advocating for seniors, launching new programs, public speaking or serving on boards and commissions are encouraged to apply. The commission meets 3:30-6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. Committee meetings and other activities require an additional 10 hours per month. The Aging Readiness Plan covers access to housing, transportation, recreation, a variety of lifestyles, support services and civic or social engagement. More on the plan and commission’s work.
