Community Planning making changes to scheduled public meetings

Published Date
Body

Vancouver, Wash. ‒ In keeping with the social distancing protocols in place to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus, Community Planning is suspending in-person meetings related to the commissions and committees that we staff, which includes the following:

  • Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee
  • Buildable Lands Project Advisory Committee
  • Commission on Aging
  • Historic Preservation Commission
  • Planning Commission
  • Schools Advisory Committee

This decision was made in consideration of the health of customers, employees and the community.

As of now, one of our committees, the Buildable Lands Project Advisory Committee will be holding web-based virtual meetings. Depending on how long the social distancing protocols are in place, we will evaluate whether that tool can be effective for future meetings of the other commissions and committees we serve.

We will post new information to our web pages as we work through these changes in how we can best serve the public, safely and smartly. We will continue to send out emails regarding news and updates. If you would like to stay informed on a particular commission, committee or project, please register to receive project updates.

Community Planning, along with many county departments have taken measures to protect employees and customers including closing front-facing counters and having employees work remotely. If you have questions regarding specific projects, we suggest emailing project staff. Contact information will be listed on the project and/or commission websites.
