Public meetings to examine revised rural growth plan alternative

Vancouver, WA -- Public meetings are scheduled to provide information and request citizen feedback on a newly revised proposal for the rural component of the next growth management plan. The open-house style meetings will be 5:30-7 p.m. • Monday, Nov. 16: Hockinson High School, 16819 NE 159th St. • Tuesday, Nov. 17: Ridgefield High School, 2630 S. Hillhurst Road In addition, the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19 to receive comments and develop a recommendation to the Board of County Councilors regarding the revised proposal for updating the growth plan. The hearing will be on the sixth floor of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St., Vancouver. Four alternatives are now under consideration as the Board prepares to select a “preferred alternative” as the basis for an environmental impact statement. Alternative 4 was revised by the Board during a work session on Nov. 9. It is posted online at www.clark.wa.gov/thegrid/.
