Election officials to perform manual count comparison for upcoming election

At 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 26, Election officials will perform a hand count of approximately 600 ballots that were randomly selected as part of a manual comparison against machine results.

Results of these ballots will be counted in the total returns on election day, Tuesday, April 25, but for this comparison, the Clark county Fire Protection District No. 10 measure also will be counted by hand, to prove the accuracy of the ballot tabulation equipment.

The procedure was recommended by Washington Secretary of States' Office, and is now standard procedure in Clark County.

Only voters in Clark County Fire Protection District No. 10 received ballots for this election. If a voter has not received a ballot, they should contact the Elections Office at 360.397.2345 or elections@clark.wa.gov

Ballots cannot be forwarded in the mail. If a voter has recently moved, and the Elections Office did not receive a change of address, their ballot will be returned as undeliverable.

Starting Friday, April 21, a voter may download a replacement ballot at clarkvotes.org. Click on "Need a Replacement Ballot?" to get started. The voter must print the ballot and return it following instructions in the download.
