Vancouver, Wash. ‒ On Wednesday, May 24, Clark County Elections will mail approximately 3,300 new voter registration identification cards to voters in areas scheduled to be annexed by Vancouver.

State law requires Elections to send voters new cards each time their district or precinct number changes, as either can with annexation.

The Green Meadows and Vancouver Mall North areas will be annexed into Vancouver on Aug. 1, 2017, which is the same date as the 2017 primary. Elections has made the temporary precinct and district changes earlier than the annexation’s effective date, as allowed by law, so voters in the neighborhoods can cast ballots on Vancouver contests and measures in the August primary and November general election. The changes will become permanent in early 2018.

Elections has completed the precinct and district changes, and new registration cards and an explanatory letter are being sent to voters this week.

Any voter who receives a new card and has questions can contact Elections at 360.397.2345 or elections@clark.wa.gov
