“Almost the size of two football fields, the exhibition hall at the Clark County Fairgrounds has a huge footprint,” says Rob Barrentine of Architects Barrentine.Bates.Lee, A.I.A. “It is 112,000 square feet and was built with 780 tons of structural steel and iron, plus 5,025 cubic yards of concrete.”

The architectural rendering of the new building above shows the large front window that is a key feature of the structure.

The $18.5-million exhibition hall is the first phase in the Clark County Fairgrounds Master Plan, which includes improvements for putting the 50-year-old fairgrounds to better use year-round. “The new building is designed to meet the needs of the marketplace and is expected to have a positive financial impact on our community,” says Betty Sue Morris, Chair of the Board of Clark County Commissioners. “Rentals of the new building will mean jobs and economic development. It’s a great project.”
