Vacancy on local law enforcement, fire fighters’ disability board

Vancouver, WA - The Clark County Law Enforcement Officers’ and Fire Fighters’ Disability Board is seeking applications from local residents to serve a two-year term as an at large member, beginning Aug. 1, 2015. The volunteer board meets the second Thursday of each month from 1:15-2:15 p.m. The five-member board establishes rules, procedures and administrative policies to ensure compliance with provisions of RCW 41.26, the Law Enforcement and Fire Fighters Retirement System Act. Duties include determining medical claim reimbursements, approving disability leave and retirement requests, and evaluating and amending coverage under provisions of the program. Anyone interested in serving should submit a letter of interest and resume to the county no later than 5 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015. Mail the information to Maria Vergis, Clark County Human Resources, P.O. Box 5000, Vancouver, WA 98666-5000. Applications also will be accepted by fax at (360) 397-2457 and by email at Maria.Vergis@clark.wa.gov. An applicant will be appointed by the current four members at the board’s regular July meeting.
