• County Manager

County Manager Kathleen Otto is seeking applicants to fill five vacancies on the Clark County Development and Engineering Advisory Board.

The three-year terms for all five openings will run April 1, 2023, through Mach 31, 2026.

The vacancies are for the following categories:


• Clark County Council

The City/County Telecommunications Commission will conduct its biennial public review of Comcast Cable’s performance at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, in Vancouver City Council Chambers, 415 W. 6th St.  Options for viewing and/or participating remotely will also be accommodated. The session will be televised live on Clark/Vancouver Television (CVTV) Cable Channel 23/323 HD.


• Clark County Council

County council to present proclamation at Feb. 21 council meeting

The Clark County Arts Commission recently awarded its 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award to Vancouver resident and philanthropist Paul E. Christensen.


• Community Planning

The Commission on Aging will hold a joint meeting with the Clark County Council and present a summary of its tenth year of work on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 4:30 p.m.


• Law Library

The Clark County Law Library this week announced the addition of an appeal kit to its array of self-help kits.

“This kit focuses on starting an appeal of a Superior Court case that is finished,” said Law Librarian Maria Sosnowski. “It includes an overview about writing the brief and going to court for a hearing, but the focus is on how to start the appeal.”

The kit includes the forms and instructions up to the brief-writing stage, followed by a few pages about briefs and the hearing.


• Public Health

The Clark County Board of Health is seeking applicants for a volunteer position on the Public Health Advisory Council.


• Assessor

The Clark County Assessor’s office property tax exemption specialists will be available to answer questions and enroll property owners in the county’s property tax relief program at an upcoming public event.

The Tax Exemption Program for senior citizens and people with disabilities can reduce property tax liability for qualifying homeowners. Eligibility is based on age or disability, home ownership and residence and income. Participants are not required to repay the taxes, and their homes are not subject to property liens.


• County

Clark County Community Services is asking residents who are low-income to complete a survey to help determine what resources and services are needed in the community. The survey, which can be completed online or on paper, will take approximately 15 minutes. It is strictly confidential.

The survey will be available now through April 14.

• Treasurer

The Clark County Finance Committee is scheduled to meet at 9:30 am Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023.

The meeting will be held via Teams, and participation information is below.


• County Manager

Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Council is seeking nominations and applications to fill a vacant position for on the three-member board that oversees Drainage Improvement District No. 5.

This position is for an unexpired term, and this appointment ends Feb. 6, 2024. Anyone wishing to fill the remainder of the unexpired term, through February 2028, must file for election in December 2023.
