Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County will host the third annual Green Awards celebration on Wednesday, March 20, at Kiggins Theatre, 1011 Main St. This event is open to any business or individual interested in environmental sustainability. Doors open at 5 p.m.

The event is free. Concessions will be available for purchase.

This year a group of improv comedians from Curious Comedy Theater will host the event while presenting their “eco-conscious” improv. The troop will interview leaders of Clark County’s green programs with late-night TV flare.

Six awards will be presented to businesses and community members for their commitment to environmental education and leadership. The categories are:

  • Green Apple Award for a school employee
  • Green Neighbor Award for a resident who exemplifies sustainability leadership
  • Green Business Awards for a nonprofit or government, one small and one large business
  • Master Composter Recycler Superstar for a volunteer

“Each year, I’m inspired by our community members’ efforts to reduce waste and protect the environment,” said Sally Fisher, environmental outreach programs coordinator. “The Green Awards will be a fun, celebratory event to recognize local leaders of environmental sustainability.”

A reception at Trusty Brewing, 114 E. Evergreen Blvd., will follow the awards ceremony.

Pre-registration is required. Please sign up at https://clarkgreenneighbors.org/event-calendar/clark-county-green-awards/3824/.
