Vancouver, WA – Clark County residents will get an insider’s look at 10 delightful gardens that showcase sustainable gardening techniques during the Natural Garden Tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 26. The annual event is a great way to learn how to make your yard a beautiful and healthy place for pets and children while protecting waterways and wildlife. Methods include: • Using native plants; • Conserving water with rain barrels; • Attracting ladybugs and other beneficial insects; and • Designing alternatives to traditional lawns. The tour also offers an opportunity to chat with local residents who have learned how to maintain yards without relying on fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides. “This is a fantastic way to learn from some of our best sustainable gardeners in Clark County,” said Don Benton, Environmental Services director.
