Vancouver, WA – Clark County’s Green Business program recognized three businesses at Thursday’s Morning Blend networking event at the new downtown Hudson Building. The event had record attendance and was followed by a green ribbon cutting.

County Manager Mark McCauley presented awards to Pacific Continental Bank, professional design firm Mackenzie and development company Killian Pacific for obtaining their Green Business Certification.

“It was incredibly inspiring to see the passion and enthusiasm in the room,” McCauley said. “I would love to see this program grow and continue to foster the culture of sustainability in Clark County.”

After the awards presentation, Robert Harding, Pacific Continental Bank’s Greater Portland president, led the green ribbon cutting. This symbolic event demonstrated the businesses’ commitment to reducing their environmental impact.

To conclude the event, visitors toured the Certified LEED Gold Hudson Building. Located at 101 E. 6th St., the building uses a variety of techniques to reduce energy consumption and waste.

“Having three Green Certified businesses in a Certified LEED Gold building illustrates the growing culture of eco-minded businesses in Clark County,” said Sarah Keirns, who heads the Green Business program for Clark County Public Health.
