Volunteer opportunities on Public Health Advisory Council

Vancouver, WA – The Board of Health is seeking applicants to fill two vacancies on the Clark County Public Health Advisory Council. The board is recruiting for:

  • A consumer of public health services
  • A representative of a local social or human services agency

Both openings are for three-year terms that begin Oct. 1, 2016.

The Health Advisory Council makes recommendations to the county councilors in their capacity as the Board of Health. The advisory council identifies needs and suggests ways to enhance the community’s health. Access to care, health inequalities, a sustainable food system, obesity and support for healthy children are among the council’s current priorities.

The advisory council meets 6-8 p.m. on the third Tuesday each month at the Center for Community Health, 1601 E. Fourth Plain Blvd.

Application deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, 2016.
