County seeks volunteers to fill two positions on Noxious Weed Control Board

Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County is accepting applications to fill two seats on a five-person board that advises the Clark County Council on controlling noxious weeds.

The Noxious Weed Control Board meets four times a year. Two board positions will be open, beginning in January 2019, in the following districts:

  • District 1: Bounded by the East Fork Lewis River on the north, Northeast 50th Avenue on the east and the Columbia River on the south and west.
  • District 5: Bounded by the Clark/Cowlitz county line on the north, the Clark/Skamania county line on the east, the East Fork Lewis River on the south and a line running from Heisson Bridge north to the Clark/Cowlitz county line.

People interested in serving must live in one of the two districts. A map showing the five districts is available on the Weed Board’s webpage, www.clark.wa.gov/public-works/weed-board.

Board members serve four-year terms. Upon expiration of a term, a member can apply to serve again. There is no limit on how many terms a member can serve.

Applications must be submitted to the Weed Board, 4700 NE 78th St., Vancouver, WA 98665, no later than 3 pm Monday, Oct. 29, 2018.
