Student Water Quality Monitoring

Body

The Clean Water Division partners with the City of Vancouver Water Resources Education Center to help mentor teachers and students in their efforts to monitor and learn more about local water quality.

Program staff provide teacher training, classroom presentations, help with monitoring site selection and assist students with on-site testing and sampling.

Students share their projects with each other and the community at the Student Watershed Congress, held annually in May at the Washington State University Vancouver campus.

For more information on how your students can become involved in monitoring nearby streams, visit their program web page at www.cityofvancouver.us/publicworks/page/watershed-monitoring-network  or call the Water Resources Education Center at 360.487.7111.
