National Center for State Court Case Flow Review - Court Business Process Changes
The Superior Court hired the National Center for State Courts to conduct an independent review and consultation of the court's processes, systems and efficiencies. The report of the national center was finalized in July 2022 (NCSC Final Report)
Based upon recommendations contained within the report the Superior Court has been implementing performance improving measures. The work to implement these processes is completed and continuing to be reviewed.
Information on some of important changes made are below.
Civil Case Reassignments
As part of the Superior Court's efforts to implement the recommendations of the National Center for State Courts (NCSC) pending civil matters, case type 2, have been re-assigned to Judges in the Civil Division. This does not apply to Civil Protection Order matters.
Approved Changes

Judicial Divisions will have weekly rotations assigned:
Specific dockets have not been assigned during the rotation weeks. Work groups for each division are meeting and will determine what the Court dockets will look like moving forward. |

Criminal Division Rotation 2023 CalendarThe Court has approved a temporary rotation and calendar for January 1, 2023 through March 31, 2023. This calendar is a modified version of the 2022 Criminal Rotation Calendar and removes the Civil Division Departments. Case Processing Time StandardsThe Court has approved Case Processing Time Standards for the time a case is filed to its resolution. These standards reflect the time at which 90%, 98%, or 100% of pending cases should be resolved by.
