Children's Justice Center
The Arthur D. Curtis Children’s Justice Center is a nationally accredited Children’s Advocacy Center that provides a safe, child-friendly place for child victims of criminal-level abuse and their non-offending family members.
The center’s multidisciplinary team of trained responders comes together from across agencies and jurisdictions to address crimes against children, including holding perpetrators accountable through the judicial system and sensitively considering children’s health and healing needs.
Center staff includes experts from Clark County, the city of Vancouver, Children’s Center, YWCA Sexual Assault Program and Washington State Department of Children and Family Services. Together they investigate cases, provide support services and help prosecute suspected felony child abuse perpetrators.
We are a multidisciplinary team seeking the truth, protecting the rights of victims, and investigating and prosecuting child sexual/physical abuse while attempting to minimize trauma to victims and their families.
Increased local expertise in medical child abuse evaluation:
CJC and Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center have forged a partnership to increase expertise and available health services for child victims of abuse. The Legacy Child Abuse Clinic began providing health services for children in September 2009.
