Domestic Violence

Body

Domestic violence is more than physical harm — it can include emotional, verbal, sexual, and financial abuse. At its core, it’s about one person trying to control another through intimidation, threats, or violence. Abuse often escalates over time, but help is available.

Warning Signs

You may be experiencing abuse if your partner:

  • Insults or humiliates you
  • Blames you for their behavior
  • Controls where you go, who you see, or how you spend money
  • Forces or pressures you into sexual activity
  • Threatens to harm you, your loved ones, or pets
  • Destroys your belongings
  • Uses jealousy or intimidation as “proof of love”

If any of these sound familiar, you may be in an unsafe situation. You are not alone, and support is available.
