Precinct boundary change notifications to go out

Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Elections Department will mail approximately 20,000 voter registration identification cards to county resident Saturday, March 18. As required by law, each county voter who has moved into a different voting precinct is being sent a new card.

State law requires that all voting precincts in Washington have 1,500 or fewer registered voters. This law, coupled with one that requires precincts to lie completely within or completely outside a city limit, means 25 new precincts were to be added and 47 existing precinct boundaries were to be adjusted after being approved by the county council late last month.

The changes were completed last week, and new registration cards and an explanatory letter will be sent to voters late this week.

Any resident who has questions about his or her new voter registration identification card can contact the Elections Department at (360) 397-2345 or elections@clark.wa.gov.
