• Public Health

Vancouver, Wash. – The COVID-19 vaccination site at Tower Mall will operate for another five weeks before closing on June 29. The site will continue to offer first and second doses of Pfizer vaccine through the last day of operations.


• Communications

Starting May 28, a random sample of Vancouver and Clark County households will receive mailed surveys from the City/County Telecommunications Commission requesting feedback about their experience with Comcast cable television and broadband services.

Through the survey, the commission hopes to learn what residents think about Comcast's cable service, even if they are not currently a Comcast subscriber, and what they may want related to future cable communications.


• Clark County Council

Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Council is seeking applicants to fill one of three Clark County-recommended positions on the seven-member Fort Vancouver Regional Library District board of trustees.

The position is designated for a Clark County resident living outside the Vancouver and Camas city limits. The unexpired term begins immediately and ends Dec. 31, 2024. The recommendation must be jointly approved by Clark, Skamania and Klickitat counties.

Vancouver, Wash. – With the likely reopening of public pools and a return to outdoor recreation this summer, Public Health is reminding people to take caution in and around the water. Warm weather may be on the horizon, but area lakes and rivers are still cold, and water may be moving quickly. By taking a few simple steps everyone can stay safe while enjoying the water throughout the summer.

• Community Services

The Clark County Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board (DDAB) is seeking community input for its five-year comprehensive plan.

The DDAB is currently prioritizing services for inclusion in the updated five-year comprehensive plan. The DDAB values community members opinions, experiences and history.


• County Manager

Clark County is issuing the following statement regarding the jury’s verdict on the court case involving former county employees Don Benton, Susan Rice and Christopher Clifford.

Clark County thanks the Court and jury for their work and service in this case. The county recognizes and appreciates the time members of the jury spent giving their careful consideration of the facts in this case. County leadership will be carefully reviewing the verdict and evaluating the county’s options moving forward.


• Elections

Every election, the Clark County Auditor’s Office provides a voters’ guide with information about candidates and ballot measures for voters to make an informed decision when voting. The voters’ guide includes statements by and photographs of candidates for elective offices as well as local ballot measures with supporting and opposing statements written by citizens.


• Clark County Council

The Clark County Council is seeking applicants for two seats on the Clark County Law and Justice Council.  

The Law and Justice Council is established by law to help coordinate activities of the local criminal justice and develop a community corrections plan for local and state corrections services in the county.

The Clark County Council has reorganized and reenergized the Clark County Law and Justice Council.


• Treasurer

The Clark County Finance Committee is scheduled to meet at 9:30 am Tuesday, May 18, 2021.

• Elections

 With the resignation of Camas Mayor Barry McDonnell on Monday, May 11, this position will be added to the list of offices open for filing beginning Monday, May 17 through Friday, May 21, 2021.

The online period to file a declaration of candidacy will be available at clark.wa.gov/elections beginning at 9 am, Monday, May 17 through 4 pm Friday, May 21, 2021.
