The Clark County Charter Review Commission met Wednesday, Jan. 27, to discuss its bylaws and select officers. The commissioners chose two members to act as co-chairs and one to serve as secretary.

The co-chairs are Kim Harless and Mike Dalesandro. Anthony Vendetti was selected to be secretary for the commission. The commission also finalized its bylaws.

The Charter Review Commission set its next meeting for 5 pm Thursday, Feb. 18. The meeting will be on WebEx. Anyone interested can listen to the meeting by calling 1.408.418.9388 and entering the access code 146 070 0254. CVTV will stream the meeting live on Channel 23/323 and online at www.cvtv.org.

The commission will meet weekly at 5 pm on Wednesdays beginning Feb. 24.

The Charter Review Commission is tasked with reviewing the county’s home rule charter approved by voters in November 2014. This will be the first review of the county’s charter.

The 15 commission members were elected in the Nov. 3 general election. Per the charter, three members were elected countywide and each of the four county councilor districts has three commissioners. Any changes to the charter that the review commission recommends would go to a countywide vote in a general election.
