Clark County will install a series of speed humps and make other traffic changes in the west Felida area in response longstanding concerns about neighborhood traffic and speeding.
The following changes will be made to slow, or "calm," traffic in the west Felida area:
- Install 19 speed humps, including three that will be built by developers of Pleasant View Estates. These humps are sometimes referred to as speed cushions and have wheel cutouts for fire engines with wider wheel bases, which allows them to pass unimpeded.
- Add two marked crosswalks, with overhead lighting. Both crosswalks would be built near the area's two parks, Felida Community Park and Sgt. Brad Crawford Neighborhood Park.
- Remove 14 stops signs and install one stop sign.
