Public invited to ceremony remembering local homicide victims

Vancouver, WA - The public is invited to a ceremony honoring homicide victims in Clark County during the county’s annual observance of the National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims.

The ceremony will be 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 26, in the sixth-floor hearing room of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. It is sponsored by the Prosecuting Attorney’s Victim Assistance Unit.

Sheriff Chuck Atkins will be the keynote speaker.

During the ceremony, victim advocates will read the names of 58 homicide victims who died in Clark County in the past five years. Another 18 earlier victims will be remembered at their families’ request.
