New Vehicle

Body

If you are a Washington resident and have purchased a brand new vehicle from a Washington dealer, the dealer is required to complete the titling and licensing for you. If you have purchased a vehicle from an out-of-state dealer, the dealer may complete the titling process for you, but you will want to clarify with the dealer since they are not required to.

Documents and Information required when titling and licensing a brand new vehicle:

  • MSO or MCO (Manufacturers Statement/Certificate of Origin)
  • Secure Odometer Discloser
  • Bill of Sale/Purchase Order
  • Notarized Title Application

If the dealership did not notarize the title application, you will need to come into the office that has your paperwork in order to complete the transaction.

All registered owners must have an unexpired Washington driver license. Your driver license number must be included on the notarized title application, or you must present your license in person at the time of titling and licensing.

Scale Weight
If the scale weight of the vehicle is not listed on the MSO/MCO, you may need to provide a scale weight from either a credible source or by getting the vehicle weighed at a public scale. Please contact us if you feel you may need to provide a scale weight.
