Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Drug Court will mark its 20-year anniversary at an upcoming celebration. The event will be noon-1:15 pm Thursday, May 2, in the sixth-floor hearing room in the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St.

The event is free and open to the public.

Come hear from former graduates and witness the success and transformations made over the years, meet the Drug Court team, and enjoy light refreshments.

The event will honor May as National Drug Court Month. Honorable James E. Rulli will receive special recognition for pioneering the implementation of the Clark County Drug Court in 1999.

According to the National Association of Drug Court Professionals, drug courts are the single most successful criminal justice intervention for seriously addicted offenders.

“Drug Courts are a vital part of our strategy to reduce drug use and crime, save lives and rebuild our community,” said Shauna McCloskey, Therapeutic Specialty Courts coordinator in Superior Court.
