Cash Management

The Treasurer assures the safekeeping of public funds as required by law by selecting a primary depository bank, maintaining records of all the deposits and withdrawals, and reconciles all bank statements.

The cash management team provides superior customer banking services to all county departments and junior taxing districts, including daily bank reconciliations, monthly financial statements, and other financial reports.

Unclaimed Property

The cash management team also handles unclaimed property and works with several states to ensure yearly reporting timelines are met.

What is unclaimed property? Unclaimed property means monetary assets or tangible property held by an organization that has lost contact with the owner for an extended period of time. It does not include real estate, vehicles, and most other physical property.

If you are interested to see if you have any unclaimed property for the State of Washington, check out the Department of Revenue’s website and claim your cash.
