Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County is seeking applicants for three positions on its Commission on Aging. The commission manages and implements the county’s Aging Readiness Plan and fosters countywide awareness, dialogue and insight into challenges and opportunities for residents of all ages, incomes and abilities.
The terms would be three-years beginning June 1, 2020 and continuing through May 31, 2023. Residents living anywhere in Clark County may apply.
Vancouver, Wash. – Clark County Public Health is seeking community members to serve on its Ethics Review Committee. The committee reviews actual and potential public health ethical dilemmas and provides recommendations to Public Health staff, management and community partners.
The committee is composed of community members and professionals from a variety of fields. The committee meets three times per year, with more meetings scheduled as needed, to understand and deliberate on ethical issues relating to public health policies, systems and operations.
Vancouver, Wash. – Ballots for the March 10 presidential primary are in the mail to all registered voters in Clark County. Instructions for the primary also are included with the ballots.
For this primary, voters must mark and sign a party declaration for their votes to count. The major political parties require voters to make the declaration. Voters must then vote for a candidate from their declared party.
Vancouver, Wash. ‒ At 2 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 25, the Clark County Elections Office will conduct a logic and accuracy test of the programming to be used to tabulate ballots and the accessible voting units for the March 10 Presidential Primary.
The test will be held at the Elections Office, 1408 Franklin St. Members of the news media, and the general public are invited to attend this test, which is required under Washington law.
Ballots will be mailed Friday, Feb. 21.
For this election, all registered voters in Clark County will receive ballots.
Vancouver, Wash. – The county manager is seeking applicants with an interest in government and educational access television and cable television franchising to fill four positions on the volunteer city/county Telecommunications Commission.
Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Permit Center will be closed for staff training on Friday, March 13. The Permit Center will have new hours of operation on Wednesdays beginning March 18. The new hours will be 8 am to noon.
The center will continue to be open 8 am to 3 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Clark County residents are invited to learn more about the stories told by waste, including historical trash unearthed at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site, at a free event this month.
Vancouver, Wash. – As housing costs rise in Clark County, people who have behavioral health needs, and often fixed incomes, have been disproportionately affected. Clark County has responded by utilizing a portion of local behavioral health funding for capital costs to build affordable housing that serves people with behavioral health needs.
This innovative approach has already helped create housing projects for this population such as Meriwether and Rhododendron, with more in the development pipeline.
Vancouver, Wash. – The Clark County Council invites the community to the 2020 State of the County on Wednesday, March 11 from 6-8 pm. The event will be in the sixth-floor hearing room in the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St.
Councilor Eileen Quiring, chair of the county council, will present State of the County remarks followed by comments given by councilors Temple Lentz of District 1, Julie Olson of District 2, John Blom of District 3 and Gary Medvigy of District 4. County Manager Shawn Henessee also will speak at the event.
