Legacy Lands Properties

Body

Visit your community natural areas

With over 5,000 acres of conservation and natural areas in public ownership, there are a variety of places to explore the great outdoors. Legacy Lands funding has contributed to significant purchases throughout the county. Some of the properties are part of larger greenways and habitat corridors with agency conservation lands.

  • Passive use areas – these properties are open for access and provide valuable conservation values as well as passive recreational opportunities, such as hiking, wildlife viewing, equestrian trails, plant hikes and geocaching. Some properties are part of a developed park system. Click here for a map of sites.
  • Conservation areas – numerous properties were acquired to protect critical areas, such as river corridors that are vital to the health of protected fish species like salmon and trout. These areas are not intended for active visitor use but include restoration and stewardship opportunities, such as native plantings and invasive species removals.

Properties open for passive recreational use
