Vancouver, Wash. – A contractor will start the summer paving program this month with pavement repairs and other preliminary work on nine sections of Clark County roads.

Clark County awarded a $5.13 million contract to Granite Construction Co. to pave about 26 lane miles of county roadway using approximately 39,600 tons of asphalt.

Crews will repair and pave:

• Highway 99, from the railroad bridge north to Northeast 78^th Street.
• Northeast 99^th Street/LaLonde Drive, from Highway 99 east to Northeast St. Johns Road.
• Padden Parkway, from Northeast 78^th Street east to Northeast Andresen Road.
• Northeast 184^th Street/Mattson Road, from Northeast 182^nd Avenue east to just west of Northeast 198^th Avenue.
• Northeast 68^th Street, from Highway 99 east to the Vancouver city limits at Northeast 28^th Avenue.
• Northeast 72^nd Street, from Highway 99 east to Northeast 16^th Avenue.
• Northeast 16^th Avenue, from Northeast 72^nd Street north to Northeast 78^th Street.
• Northeast 299^th Street, from Northeast 82^nd Avenue east to State Route 503.
• Northwest 179^th Street, from Northwest 11^th Avenue east to Northeast Delfel Road.

Because of high traffic volumes, Highway 99, Padden Parkway and the section of Northeast 99^th Street between Highway 99 and Northeast 25^th Avenue will be paved overnight, from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

Along with asphalt overlays, the county’s summer road preservation program includes slurry, cape and chip seal treatments. All preservation work is designed to protect the public’s investment in county roads and extend their useful life.
