Vancouver, WA – A private contractor working for Clark Public Utilities will replace a 12-inch water line within a section of trail along Salmon Creek Greenway. Construction is expected to begin Tuesday, Sept. 8 and last for up to three weeks.

Tapani, Inc. will keep the trail open for walkers, runners and cyclists, who will need to stay clear of work areas and equipment.

The water line is near pump stations and softball fields west of Klineline Pond. Instead of boring under the trail, the contractor will cut into the pavement and repair the trail after replacing the line.

On a busy day, as many as 1,300 people use the trail from Salmon Creek Regional Park west to Northwest 36th Avenue.

Clark Public Utilities has agreed to place signs near trailheads to inform visitors during the construction.
